Welcome to Mankato E Free!
Our congregation has a vision to reach the Mankato Area for Jesus Christ, and to develop believers into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We desire to tell our growing community that God still cares and that He can make a difference in each of our lives. The task at hand is great, but so is our God. We invite you to join us in accomplishing this exciting dream.
Senior Pastor
Peter and Sue Vander Hook came to Mankato in November 1996
with a variety of ministry experience. A graduate of Miami
Christian College and Moody Graduate School, Peter served
as pastor and youth pastor in Wisconsin and Illinois. The have
four children: David, Jared, Jalene, and Mykaela.
The Vander Hook's love for God and desire to help people find
freedom and purpose in Christ contributes greatly to making
the church family loving, joyful, and purposeful in living for
Jesus Christ our Lord. Their desire is to motivate people to be
purpose driven as God designed to love Him, to love others,
and to love reaching the world for Christ.
They both are gifted teachers of God's Word and have a love to
communicate it in practical, applicable ways for the church family
to grow in their faith and walk with God.

Youth Pastor
Nate Holdeman joined the staff of Evangelical Free Church in
September of 2002. Nate and his wife, Julie, are both graduates
of Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN. Majoring in both
Communications and Bible, Nate brings creativity, a sense of
humor, and a passion to show Jr. High and Sr. High students
Christ's love. Nate and Julie have three children: Kelsey, Silas, and Sawyer.
Nate and Julie both enjoy creating meaningful relationships
with the students. Nate likes to keep the students laughing with
funny stories, messy ice breakers, and fun team building game
shows. He mixes the fun with serious Bible lessons and
meaningful small group time. He believes the youth group
should be a place that people look forward to coming and
having fun, but also a place for leaning how to have a
meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you have any questions about the youth ministry, please
call Pastor N8 (Nate) at 507-345-7451 or you can email him at
holdy@mankatoefree.org.
